Jeffrey Ward
Jeffrey "Quisp" Ward started playing drums at only 7 years old. As with so many great musicians the church was his first music teacher; there he sang gospel music with his family in the group called "The Wilder Ward Singers". By age 14 he had expanded his talents to include playing lounges and festivals, and has earned the reputation of "master drummer".
In 1990 he was selected to play with Obo Addy of Ghana in his band Kukrudu, African High Life Jazz and traditional drums, where he studied trap and hand drums.
Jeff has gigged with many of Portland‟s top gospel, Jazz and R&B talents such as Janice Scroggins and Patrick Lamb.
In 1997 he joined
OCEAN 503, bringing his vibrant and versatile sound to the band. He is the group‟s only and original drummer. "Quisp" is the anchor to all the vocal harmonies; he has strong lead vocals for funk and is smooth on ballads.
